Critical Reading-Writing Assigment Week Feb.10

Intersectionality  is a new term for me but its definition is very familiar  and  uncomfortable. Everyone of us at some point have experienced Intersectionality.  I have experience it myself and witnessed it from others when it comes to the struggle  with gender equality, racial justice, and disability. We are so used to being labeled and stereotyped, is like we are driving in cruise control, very passive and we do not notice it.  The environment in our work place contributes to the segregation in some cases; and makes us be part of  the labeling without seeing. In my case for example, by creating schools and programs just for newcomers, having sheltered classroom, and also secluded areas for specific LD groups. My question is.. Are we helping and supporting our youth? Am I doing the right thing? Or are we just following the rules, and norms that others have already established without asking ourselves...

FIELD POST FEB.17-CARINA-MICHI-ANGEL

Michi and Angel are submitting and meeting all the deadlines with YARI.  They did not have time to review the assignment I have recommended it for them last week: About the Hopkins report and the students bills of rights. I sent the links again to them for reviewing and to narrow it down for our research project and to create a questionnaire. Some of the important parts of our conversation were about quantitative-qualitative research tips:  They  already   have  a topic, now they will identifying the literature, identifying  an issue to highlight as a purpose for the study. They will coordinate questions to  investigate  about the study, also they will provide me some dates to begin the students interview process at my school on a Friday morning. F ollow by framing research hypotheses, o utline the research design and  d escribe the procedures for data collection and data analyses.
