This class and the YARI project will support, help, develop, and offer another opportunity for us to help the underserved. We can be in their shoes, brainstorm together and find alternative forms of teaching, learning, adapting, creating a space where everyone can feel accepted and normal. With an awareness of intersectionality, we can better acknowledge the differences among us and accept each other so we can move forward. My mentees are high spirited and super smart Angel and Mich. We shared about ourselves and discussed our journey maps. I would love to be the guide that will provide additional data points, suggestions and support that will help them navigate their project as best as possible. They already have a topic: Why Providence Schools are failing? Focusing on Disability, Minority, and LGBTQ.
I suggested to review the Hopkins Report and also they will review the Student Bill of Rights that was created several years ago in Providence. We will meet on Mondays at the Met School from 10:45am-11:45am.
